Too big to miss but sadly not too soon!

Of course I was as excited as any rugby fan when I was reminded by the IRB promo team during the week that the World Cup is one year away.

But then again, I was also probably as sad as any rugby fan when I was reminded by the IRB promo team during the week that the World Cup is one year away.  Do we really have to wait a whole year???

Naturally, the reminders weren't just for the fun of it...they also want us to know that the tickets for the 2015 Rugby World Cup are on sale.

And although these reminders come at the start of the 2014/15 domestic rugby season when we've got a ton of egg-chasing already on our plates, it is also a time when we need to be planning ahead for what is to come.

Ireland’s schedule is in some ways perfect for our squad to ease into the competition, starting with Canada on Sep 19 in Cardiff, Romania on Sep 27 at Wembley, Italy on Oct 4 at the Olympic Stadium, and rounding off with the very last match in all the pool stages when we face France back in Cardiff for a match which we may need to win to avoid the All Blacks in the quarterfinals.

So if you're dithering over sourcing tickets from sites like LiveRugbyTickets.co.uk, I suggest you get to it sooner rather than later because they're being snapped up very quickly, with several matches going to a ballot according to Auntie Beeb.

It goes without saying that the longer we leave it the dearer the tickets will be when the time comes.  And we all know that we'll want to go all the more when the time comes!  Just saying ;-)

Good luck to you if you do try to get to the matches you want.  In the meantime, I presume you have seen the video below, but if you haven't, er, why not?  And if you have, ah go on, have another look you know you wanna!  JLP
