Richard Mifsud My heart always said Ireland but my head kept saying Wales I am soooooo pleased my head’s an idiot 😂. We needed a big improvement on last week and we got it. Also started to see the Farrell style, which was very pleasing. That was a very good performance against a very good Wales side. A good run out by some ‘has beens’ 😜. All in all a much more cohesive performance. Work to be done on D and penalty count but there’s no arguing with a well deserved BPW against the Grand Slam Champions and RWC semifinalists, did I mention we just deservedly beat the Grand Slam Champions and RWC semifinalists. Less predictability and more freedom to vary on attack. Too early in the new reign to judge but certainly an improvement on 2019. Finally, standouts for me 1 - 23 🤷🏻‍♂️ #COYBIG

Sandra Dawson So much better - we started with real intent and didn’t allow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 to get going and play their usual expansive style. Good plans, moves and generally well executed. Looking forward to Twickers!
Nice to see the bench also being used wisely - Back row were fab 👍

Conor Cronin Strong, confident, skillful... Could describe an individual, describes the team. And they really played like a team. A few mistakes but thats OK to have something to work on. Much better than last week and very good against the wind second half.

Poite really doesn't seem to like Johnny, and as I said before this competition, Johnny needs to work on that.

Elizabeth Hackett Well played Lads. Getting better as a team each game. Poite does not the Irish period. That is obvious very time he does any games we are involved in.

Joe Sheppard A much improved game overall. Murray faster ball out, width used, solid forwards display. Lots of mistakes but I can live with those cos we were trying to play fast, open, expansive rugby. CJ outstanding again. Wales unlucky. Tomkins missing everything...... North did nothing...... Parkes, Tipuric & AWJ outstanding but we weathered all they gave us. McNicholl very useful to their future. They missed Adams going off. Thought for 3/4 of the match they were a more complete team actually. Very poor officiating by Poite! A solid step up for us. #FAUGHABALLAGH 💙😎💙

Kevin Kelehan Disciplined third quarter, was worried at halftime they would not hold out but fair play they ground out a dour and ugly win. Stander deffo back to his best and Conway is the real deal

Sean Michaels The Irish performance was like a breath of fresh air after some of the sterile outings we had witnessed during the later part of the Schmidt era. This was a real team effort and any one of 4/5 Ireland players could have got MoM. Unfortunately the ref was very poor, the standard of refereeing coming out of France is abysmal and needs to be looked at. People criticise JS for his relationship with the ref but no matter who was Captain it wouldn’t have made any difference. Thought Murray did enough to retain his jersey for the England game. All in all an extremely satisfying win which will lift the team immeasurably in time for the England game

Reenen Stenekamp I absolutely LOVED this game!!!!

Mark Barry Probably our most significant win since NZ 2018. Good improvement on last week. I think we’ll be heading to Twickenham in a better place psychologically than we might have expected a couple of months ago.

Imelda Reidy Best performance in a long time. They all showed up today. Absolutely out muscled, out thought and out played the Welsh. COYBIG

Kenneth Loughrey Defensive structure much improved Wales didnt get much out wide to do damage. Taking ball on gainline at pace making yards rather than standing start. Still alot to work on in the breakdown area and error count but in all it's a massive step forward.

James Griffin Chuffed with that win and delighted for the players. A bit to do yet, e.g. scrums and protecting ball, but always better to have work-ons when winning.

David Harold A well thought out game plan to exploit Welsh weaknesses. Should play Poite better as was shown by Stander getting his yellow.
The scrum penalty won that match. So well done Kilcoyne.

Noel Hewson Better performance this week. Good defence and trying to move the ball more which is a good sign.

Kevin Ryan Much happier to see us fronting up this week. The first minute set the tone of how we intended to play. By no means a perfect performance but it was in some ways dominant. Happy to get the win - especially given the amount of soft turnovers we conceded. Not too many teams have taken a bonus point win over the Welsh recently.

Rhian Nowell-Phillips Wales missing Shaun Edwards big style, well played Ireland though

Neil Keegan I’d have kicked a puppy in the face for that result and for the first time in a while I can say : ‘When you come at the kings, best not miss’

Hywel Davies Workmanlike from Ireland, flat from Wales. They never took the couple of chances they had to get into the game and that was in part down to Ireland’s pressure.

Andrew Potts Did very well against a very good Welsh side. Just refused to give them the ball

Edel Bethel Job done nicely even with a horrendous ref

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.

Look out Monday for our match writeup JLP
