Online comments after Leinster v Munster

A selection of the “keyboard warrior” reactions after the full-time whistle of our featured matches of the weekend.

If you’d like to contribute stay tuned to our Facebook page for our “Feel free to leave your thoughts…” posts which show up around full time after Leinster & Ireland matches.

Sean Michaels Not enough credit given to Sexton, he controlled the game, he shepherded the players and left no doubt to anyone watching that he was in overall control. Leinster didn’t really have to do much in terms of creativity as Munster didn’t really possess the game plan to push them. After watching Munster on these last couple of occasions I can understand why Thomond Park is half empty for most games. In order for any game to be “exciting” you need both teams to be invested in providing entertainment. There’s no doubt in my mind that Leinster will raise their game considerably for the Saracens game.

James Griffin Congrats Leinster folks. Only one team in it tonight, unfortunately. Best of luck in the final.

Derek McGee A classic? Nah, but our semi finals against Munster rarely are. Leinster played smart, rather than hard, and pretty much let Munster play themselves out of the game. Doris was definitely a worthy MOTM but Will Connors was excellent on both sides of the ball, Hugo Keenan fully justified his selection & Dev had a fantastic game on the ground as well as in the air. We'll need to play a damn sight better against Saracens but tonight, the better team won & the 3peat is still alive.

Daragh Mackey Not a great game of rugby conditions didn't help, at end of the day Munster are still miles behind Leinster when it comes to the killer punch, roll on next sat

Conor Cronin The irony of the golden Boot winner missing 3 kicks like that... That's the pressure you're under coming up against this leinster team. There's a lot to do before saracens in a couple of weeks, and we can not allow players get isolated like that against them, but it's good to have work to do! Connors impressed again, the commitment of the players around the pitch was excellent, the discipline a little less so... Work hard, move forward, bring on Edinburgh!

Micheal Mac An TSagart It's a sad day for Munster when Leinster can play well within themselves and still win by 10.

Hope Van Graan gets a 10 year contract extension as the man is clueless.

Olwen Barrett Anyone count the kicks/box kicks???? Could be an interesting stat! 🤷🏼‍♀️
Great to get the win and another final to look forward to now. 😊 Doris, Connors and Jonny were great! 💙

Brian Connolly (reply to Olwen Barrett) Ultimate Rugby says Leinster 33 Munster 36

Soliu Son Murray well past it, Hanrahan didn’t control the game or put his stamp on it just was a passenger. Munster no creativity or shape in attack. I don’t know why they thought De allende was going to solve all their problems. Munster need a proper ball player with creativity at 12 and he’s not that type of player.

Nigel Quigley Box kick Murray...sheesh, never mind the missed pens. Leinster deserved winners

Neil Keegan Munster have a lot of work to do. Worryingly lacking in ideas. Too many times it’s been magic from a player and not a team getting them through

Leinster made too many mistakes but played cup rugby. Need big improvements going forward. Better opposition will do that

Karl Walsh Leinster fan here. I thought it was a double movement for the try. But saying that, JJ’s misses were criminal, no legislating for that from a Munster perspective. Tough win, plenty of luck involved too. Roll on the final.

Robert Webster As a Munster supporter very disappointed in performance, thought it was a very poor game and Leinster were there for the taking. Thought both teams and ref were poor but we didn't deserve anything more than we got. Our attack was completely blunt and we showed no imagination and my God the box kicking was so frustrating. Well done Leinster.

Gerald Williamson Leinster can thank CM for box kicking all evening & JJ leaving his kicking boots behind. Also Munster lacked a game plan to break the Leinster defence.

Craig Grehan Shite match. You'd know both teams havent played much.
Glad rugby is back, but christ both teams were just meh.
Munster if they'd a kicker and a scrum half plan to not kick leinster the ball, might have been a different sceal.
Leinster didnt offer much, given the amount they got the ball back off of munster
That said if Beirne isn't starting 2nd row for Irelands next match, I give up. He's unreal.

Alan Murphy Leinster were cold and efficient. Not a great performance but kept Munster to only a score in the 5th minute. Van Graan is a spoofer. Hardly even a plan A let alone a plan B.

Colin Mcconaghie The one thing Munster are normally guaranteed is fight, but it was sadly lacking tonight, as were any tactics. Leinster weren’t great but they didn’t have to be and they managed the game at ease (although they did get sloppy in the second half)

Andrew Bailey Poor game -thanks mainly to the inept Brace. I worry for Ireland if Murray is our best scrum half. Hard to fault the Leinster performance. Scrum dominance and smart back play (Farrell anonymous) contributed to simply a street wise performance

Eamon Phelan Omg Munster supporter well done Leinster , blooding new players ,playing with energy , realistically we were never close . Time to play the Munster young guns , what have we got to lose at this stage

Paul Smith When you keep the opposition to 3 points you deserve the win. Another step on the road to another double hopefully 💙. Allez Les Bleus !!!

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.
