Bristol fans hoping to celebrate their home Premiership return were quickly reminded of how far they still are from the top half of the table. Tries from North, Picamoles and Ken Pisi built a whopping 25-3 lead with minimal effort. There followed about an hour of scrappy “bosh” style rugby with Stephen Myler largely uninspiring before reserve hooker Mike Haywood finally clinched the bonus at the death. Jim Mallinder will know much tougher European challenges lie ahead for his side.
