A late Isa try/conversion secured a losing BP against a strong Montpellier side who punished every Leinster mistake or error. Leinster started quite strong especially in the scrum but overall poor player support and defence saw Montpellier stroll through for try No 1. 2 more from Nedolo, 1 in each half including an unnecessary intercept and a wrongly adjudged yellow card for Rob K summed up an error strewn day for Leinster. That late BP might be a godsend!

Irfu contracted players have no heart. Poor selection. Nacewa, Gibson-Park, Carbery are essential to this team's success. And I know competition is very tough but Dan Leavy is the best performer we've seen in years. Poor handling errors and our bench salvaged what was a poor performance. Lucky to come away with the bonus point and happy to go into December on top.

Generally poor from Leinster. Some performances mitigated by injury/recovery (Jonny & Seanie) but others not so much (another poor showing from Rob Kearney, not great from Luke McGrath either). Ringrose, Leavy, JGP & the replacement front row all had a positive effect on the game and to snag a losing BP away from home, in terrible conditions & against a huge team of expensively assembled mercenaries feels at the very least like a draw, if not a win. Also, special mention for Isa, who shows that a high rugby IQ makes up for the loss of a yard of pace every single time. Pace might get you where you want to be, a brain has you there before you need to be.

Not a great day at the office but again some very poor refereeing decision and this has to be looked at but look we did get the bonus point

Too many mistakes but in fairness very tough conditions and against a team feeling sore from defeat last week. LB and denying them the 4th try is huge, top of the table, I'll take that!

It was difficult to watch, in part cos I had a toddler running around to keep an eye on, and in part cos that many mistakes is hard to watch. What Carberry lacks in experience he's really making up for in enthusiasm and effort and Ringrose the same. Leavy came on and performed like maybe he shouldn't have been on the bench in the first place. Isa is still world class!

I'll take a bp on a day like this and add to that denying them one, that's acceptable. I don't like to see us lose, but it'll do

Conor Cronin

Positives: Carberry, Ringrose, Isa and a losing bonus point.
Negatives: Inaccuracy and a drop in overall performance compared with last week.

The inaccuracies in various areas were what lost it for us. But there are lots of positives. Set pieces were good, though we need to be better at defending their lineout maul. When we retained possession we looked dangerous (pity it took us until the game was lost to do so, but still). Happy with where the bonus points went, one with us, none with them.

Not the first to say this, but Carbery at 15 instead of Kearney? He's not offering much anymore in attack. He can always move to ten when sexton goes off, have someone on the bench who can cover outhalf in a pinch.

Excellent attitude to get that BP and deny them. Don't really understand why Montpellier were celebrating.

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.

Look out Monday for our match writeup JLP
