Online comments after Ireland v England

A selection of the “keyboard warrior” reactions after the full-time whistle of our featured matches of the weekend.

Michelle Tobin Fantastic performance, not perfect but much improved. Still some defence and discipline issues but there's plenty of time to work on those before Ireland play again. No passengers today.

Gutted to bid farewell to CJ in green but what a send off. You could see how much it meant to him, he was no "plastic Paddy". He treasured every moment in green and we were lucky to have him

#thanksCJ

Ian Frizzell Give me a team of Tadhg’s. #COYBIG

Imelda Reidy Superb Ireland performance. Beirne, Sexton, Murray, Henshaw, Earls, Furlong. I could go on. England were poor. Yes we put them under pressure but they were awful. Really poor discipline. I can't see that red card ever being a red card. Onwards and upwards.

David O'Mahony (reply to Imelda Reidy) I thought it was harsh at first but it looks like Aki's tackle technique let him down. He's driving upwards despite the fact that he's already standing tall.

Great game. Better result. Great to see us attack with such determination and not kick every possession.

Paul Smith Robbie Henshaw, Ireland's player of the tournament and outstanding again today. Keenan is getting better and better at FB, Johnny's kicking from the tee superb. Beirne excellent again and Furlong outstanding. What a win !

Jack Woods Tadhg Beirne to feature as a spin off Marvel movie. Phenomenal athlete. Best of luck to CJ and his future endeavors. Thanks for the memories ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š

Andrew Potts Henshaw kept Ireland in it for the first 15 mins. Then good performances all over the park, it must be very satisfying for Conan to hit that performance on his return, plus Keenan is not spectacular but he does most things really well. England threw a lot his direction but he just looked unflappable.

Dave O Mahony Lost first 2. It was looking dire. Won the next 3. We are back. Something to build on into the future.

Kevin Kelehan Best Irish forwards performance since before RWC 2019, backed up by metronomic accuracy from Sexton and real aggression in midfield. Might not have won anything this season but it has been a great step forward, Paul O'Connell seems to have instilled a winning mentality, a shame that Stander is not staying on to help deliver it!

Reenen Stenekamp That Earls try!!!

Neil Keegan Unreal! The grief the team/coaches have been getting has been ott

Change takes time (remember Joe’s first batch of games for Leinster)

This was the start of the benchmark for us. Big game from everyone. Intelligent and aggressive all around the pitch.

We March on from here.

Also, the begrudgers and clowns who got so excited for Farrell’s heads, should reall re watch that game

Niall Byrne (reply to Neil Keegan) really? Would he have made the positional and personnel changes if they weren’t ‘forced’ on him? Personally I don’t think so. Nothing changes in that respect IMO. He needs to look at how he picks players and what he asks them to do on the pitch. POC coming on board might just have saved his bacon.

Conor Cronin Best 80 minute performance by Ireland against a tier one nation in 3 years, maybe more. Lots of great individual performances but delighted to see the team do well as a team!

Jim Reynolds Superb Ireland, just superb.

Colin Mcconaghie Best performance since 2018, some great individual performances but overall a great team effort. Great to see the shackles off and some adventure in our game. The disallowed Earls try would have been one for the scrapbook.

Aoibhin Kenny Just one word. Epic☘️

Noel Hewson Excellent win. We now know what they are capable of. Seen off the early pressure and then dominated the next 40 minutes. Henshaw and Beirne were stand outs over the tournament.

Karen Mooney Thanks Ireland. That was so good.

Aubrey Fogarty Furlong was a damn monster today. They really wanted this win. All of them. Frustrating that so often they are flat. POC was instant impact. Amazing effect on the lineout and spirit.

Ted Maher Happy Really really really happy!!!!!!

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.

Look out Monday for our match writeup JLP
