Online comments after Scotland v Ireland

Conor Cronin From 24-10 up to scraping a 3 point win. At that point of being 14 points up we should have been pushing for the tries to get a bonus point and put down a marker. I'm disappointed we didn't go for them when we had the chance. Some players very quiet by their own standards. I question where our creativity is, again. It's been missing a lot.

Our missed tackle numbers (22) are criminal

Olwen Barrett Henshaw (my MOM!), Earls and Keenan best of the backs, Beirne , Connors and Hendo of the forwards. And Jonny, well Jonny just doing Jonny things, and doing it well......gulf between him and next best just seems to get bigger and bigger.

Great line out steals but far too many missed tackles, conceding those tries is disappointing. Great to get the win, tho made hard work of it towards the end (heart stopping!) defo need to sort a few things before we face England......bring it on though!

Richard Mifsud Pleased with the win, pleased with large aspects of that performance especially the intensity in the carries and the breakdown but to allow them back in after going 14 ahead will I’m sure be a huge part of this week’s analysis. That said they showed plenty of character to go for it at the end. We’ll certainly have to be a great deal better and bring that intensity into an 80 minute performance against England otherwise we’ll get beat by them...again. Final point: Paulie’s influence is certainly coming through

Pat Fitzpatrick Lowe not up to it ... defensively at fault across three games for tries.... coach needs to step up and make the decision... lowes strength is going forward not defence and ireland need strong defence at int level...

Noel Hewson A win is a win. Some good Defensive lineout, Beirn, Earls, Furlong etc. And some not so good poor tackling, questionable kicking etc. England game should be a good benchmark of where there are.

Gerald Williamson POC's influence is showing. Defence needs tightening up especially out wide. Need quicker ball from the scrum & rucks. To many up and under kicks, becoming to predictable. More into the corners where we would have being taken the Scots lineouts.

Russ Rafter Lowe has yet to play well in a green Jersey. Couldn't believe how many times Gibson Park kicked away possession. What was the point of his Box Kick when the clock showed 78'35"? You wouldn't see that in a schools match!

Reenen Stenekamp Sexton was the difference today. And I thought Dave Kilcoyne killed off any forward momentum Scotland had when he came on.

Hywel Davies Nice of Scotland to put little bows on the absolute gift 🎁 Must have been torture for their fans.

Colin Mcconaghie Forwards were very good. Massive problems with the set up and game plan for our backline.

Kevin Kelehan Line out is back baby! Backs need a lot of work, some great players but they are not gelling as a team

Cian Ormond Phew!

Colm Cunningham The Irish line out was class. Oconnell has made some difference already.

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.

Look out Monday for our match writeup JLP
