Online comments after Leinster v Zebre

A selection of the “keyboard warrior” reactions after the full-time whistle of our featured matches of the weekend.

Paul Smith Sloppy in the first half but I think some of that was down trying to hard to put last week behind them and forcing some things unnecessarily. Line out wa poor and Harry was having a tough time missing some simple kicks and overlooking a penalty. Again I wonder howuch of that was rustiness and much was trying to impress Farrell. Johnny did what he does when he came on, showing once again he is by a long way the best 10 in the country. Some decent performances too by Dan, Adam Byrne, Luke and Jordan. All in all a much better game than last weekend, and once things really click into place, Leinster will be the team everyone has to catch again this season.

Conor Cronin Line out needs serious work, but if you put that aside and concentrate on how this is an entirely different team to last week you can forgive the lack of cohesion. I'd like to see more of our starting 10 12 going forward but in the mean time it's a decent win and happy out with it!

Richard Mifsud Improved performance and intensity but still much to work upon not least the line out and dealing with a rush D. Better in the second 40 when they settled down though. Issues also with subtlety in attack but that looks like a work in progress issue which is great when it comes off. POTM for me was Ryan Baird and wasn’t it awesome to watch Mr A Byrne dotting down 😊. Bottom line they’re trying new stuff out and they’ll improve #COYBIB

Sean Michael Whilst this was a better performance than last week it still left more questions than answers with too many mistakes, unforced errors and a malfunctioning line out. Harry Byrne looked way off the pace with his place kicking pretty abysmal. It didn’t take long for Johnny Sexton, who’d replaced the injured Ross, to show why he is so important to both Leinster and Ireland, he galvanised the Leinster players and led the line superbly. I imagine the players feared that they were in for a tongue lashing from JS if they didn’t pull their finger out. Second half was more like the Leinster that we’ve become used to over the last decade. Worryingly Zebre, who to their credit didn’t stop trying, managed to pierce our defence on several occasions only to be let down by last minute errors of their own making or the scores could’ve been closer

Noel Hewson Still sloppy but at least better than last week. Great to see all the lads back from injury. Sexton still the class act at 10. Osbourne should some lovely hands and has a lot of potential.

Lorcán Murphy When you make wholesale changes, continuity of performance is never easy to come by. This was better and Sexton is a class above any other 10 we have available for selection

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.
