Americas Rugby Championship Round 4 by Ciarán Duffy




Chile 15 – 67 Uruguay

Ianiszewski kicked Chile into the lead at the 10th minute.  Uruguay took control from there, Albanell kicked two penalties, then converted tries from Diana, Leivas, and Favaro.  Chile had Matías Balbontíns sinbinned in the 21st minute.  Chile got a late try in the first half through Bursic.  

In the second half Balbontíns crossed the line for the home side, Ianiszewski converted.  Uruguay retook control with tries from Favaro and de León.  Diana got his 2nd of the game, with Favaro converting.  Balbontíns then got sent off for Chile.  Miered got over the line, before Diana got his hattrick, both tries were converted by de León.  Chile had centre de la Fuente sent to the bin.  Blengo got an eleventh and final try for the visitors, de León converted.  

Brazil 16 – 45 USA

Te’o got an early try for the USA, before Reeves kicked a penalty for the home side.  Tries from Mo’ungaloa, Campbell, and Germishuys were converted by Magie.  Duque got a late in the half for Brazil, with Reeves kicking the conversion.  

In the second half Reeves kicked two further penalties.  Brazil had Giantorno, López, and Vettorato sent to the bin, while Civetta was shown yellow for the USA.  Lamborn, LAsike, and Germishuys touched down for USA, two of which were converted by Cima.  

Argentina XV 40 – 15 Canada

Canada took the lead with a penalty from Staller.  Argentina XV took the lead with a try from Mensa.  Two more tries from Álvarez and Resino had Argentina XV well in front, both were conveted by Mallia.  Barkwill got one back for Canada.  

Early in the second half Resino and Montagner crossed the line, Mallia converted both.  Mack got one back for Canada.  Arias got a final try for Argentina XV, which was converted by Gonzáles.
