Warren’s wisdom in wanting Welsh winger wizard Williams is wonky, says Kristian Ross
Andrew Trimble. Fifty Ireland caps and a try against Canada to add the collection too on Saturday night. A blistering season for Ulster Rugby, a solid defensive unit, and all around powerhouse on the pitch.
And then we come to the British and Irish Lions. Fair enough, Gatland may have not had Trimble on his shortlist, but his decision to pick certain players for backline cover over the last few weeks is now short of farcical.
I can excuse Simon Zebo, not because he's Irish but because he's had a decent season for Munster. But Billy Twelvetrees. Brad Barritt. Christian Wade. Hardly experienced players compared to the Ulster man. And then yesterday, the final nail in the proverbial coffin, the call up of none other than Shane Williams.
Yes, that's Welsh legend and RETIRED international Shane Williams who has been plying his trade in Japan recently. The decision that sees Williams play a warm up game against the ACT Brumbies, but who knows it could be more.
I may be an Ulster fan, you may say I'm biased, but the long and short of it, Andrew Trimble has been robbed, and Warren Gatland's call up's are becoming more laughable every week.
I'm Kristian. 18. And my mind is filled with rugby shaped thoughts. Supporting Ulster Rugby, Newcastle Falcons and of course the mighty Ireland. Tommy Bowe is the MAN !!!! SUFTUM.
