from Leinster Rugby…
After training in UCD today Leinster Rugby head coach Leo Cullen has issued an injury update with regard to his squad ahead of the Pool 5, European Rugby Champions Cup game against Bath on Saturday (Kick Off: 3.15pm - live on BT Sport, available on the Setanta Sports pack in Ireland).
Sean O'Brien, Richardt Strauss and Mike McCarthy were all removed from the field of play on Sunday against Wasps for head injury assessments. They did not return to the field of play and as a result entered the return to play protocols. A decision on their inclusion or otherwise will not be made until Friday morning. Being day two of the protocols all three players took part in some light cardio work today and will increase their workload, providing they pass each stage, as the week progresses.
Captain Isa Nacewa who missed out on selection for the Wasps game having failed a late fitness test on a knee injury did not take part in training today, nor did Rob Kearney (hamstring) but a final decision on their inclusion or otherwise will not be made until later in the week.
Ben Te'o (glute), Luke Fitzgerald (shoulder) and Rhys Ruddock (wrist) all took part in training and are expected to be available for selection this weekend.
