Wasps were undone by the last sting of what seemed to be a dying Toulon at the Stade Mayol. Having stayed within touching distance of the three-time champions throughout, a powerful late finish by Guy Thompson should have pinched the spoils but Bernard Laporte’s men stuck at it right to the end and eventually Ma’a Nonu put Drew Mitchell through to edge this turnover-fest. The Premiership outfit defended well and took what chances they had but it just wasn’t enough.
