Rugby Generation X to donate proceeds to Dublin’s Liberty Saints RFC

Yesterday in Dublin’s Marrowbone Lane, Garry Ringrose teamed up with some of Liberty Saints finest to demonstrate mutual support for the game, each other and to talk about the upcoming Rugby Generation X conference.

Liberty Saints RFC has a core ethos: Train For Life. Rugby Generation X supports this ethos and in so doing will donate proceeds from its upcoming Aviva Stadium Conference, taking place on 27th August 2016, to Liberty Saints RFC.

Garry Ringrose of Leinster Rugby noted: “the spirit and future of rugby is evident in all clubs across the nation but in particular here in Dublin’s South inner city where it is phenomenal to see young players coming through with such determination. I am delighted that we will have such a landmark event as Rugby Generation X happening here in Ireland. Rugby Generation X will give our young players an understanding of the key areas that influence their development. Including; mental health and fitness, strength and conditioning, nutrition and healthy eating and injury prevention and management”.

 

Liberty Saints RFC play brilliant rugby and support players through the adventure of discovering their abilities and self-worth, so that the players can in turn contribute to their own community.

Mr. Tom Magee of Liberty Saints RFC explains: “South Inner City Dublin is a wonderful place of character and history but it is not without its problems. Life for a young person in our community can be extremely challenging, leaving many with little capacity to dream of a life full of opportunities. Many of our young players live amid the chaos of drugs and alcohol abuse, open drug dealing, fear, intimidation and severe anti-social behavior. Liberty Saints RFC was established as a layer of support and to act as a stabilising structure. We are much more than just a rugby club. Through encouragement, challenge, advice and on-going care, we cater for a vital need in our community”.             

Mr. Tom Magee, concludes: “We are very excited that Rugby Generation X will donate proceeds from its upcoming conference, thereby enabling us to get closer to achieving the Liberty Saints RFC objective of providing its own transportation, to ensure the future of rugby in our City”.

The Rugby Generation X conference takes place in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday August 27th 2016. Rugby Generation X will be chaired by Craig Doyle of BT Sports and addressed by Ireland Head Coach, Joe Schmidt. From within the game, will be some of Irelands new and emerging professional talent such as: Garry Ringrose, Luke McGrath and Ross Moloney of Leinster Rugby, Andrew Conway of Munster Rugby and Connacht Rugby’s Peter Robb. 

Rugby Generation X will bring together coaches, parents and young players to provide an insight into how best to create positive and long lasting influences on young players who have a desire to play and enjoy their rugby at a safe and competitive level. Players attending will be between the ages of 13 to 17. They will gain a detailed understanding of the key areas that influence their development. Including; mental health and fitness, strength and conditioning, nutrition and healthy eating and injury prevention and management.

Leading subject matter experts involved in the development of young rugby talent will speak at what will be a unique event in the Irish Rugby scene.
