Some not so great patches but delighted overall - 8 new caps is fantastic, Dillane deserved MOTM on his first start. Thought Luke Mc made a difference when he came on. Marshall poor. SOB has most likely done enough to be included next week.
Denise O'Brien
Could have been, should have been a more dominant display but a win is a win! #IrishRugby

Sean o Brien put it to Joe for selection as well as Dillanne , a few glimpses of the potential of the younger generation Ringrose, o Halloran looking good, more than able to cut it. Paddy Jackson on the bench. But Carbery is a great prospect.
8 new caps. A very mature Peter O'Mahony reflecting on a so so game. Lots of positives to be taken from the match. #IRLvCAN

Dillane was immense. Given that Henderson wasn't in the squad tonight, he may miss out next week, but hard to see him parachuted into the 15 from a standing start. Couldn't argue even as a Munster man if Dillane edged past Ryan, but I suspect Henderson may not be involved next week, and if so, the lock situation may be unchanged from Chicago. And yeah, given that O'Brien was taken off and O'Mahony played 80 suggests the former and not the latter will be in the 23. I suspect he would have been taken off earlier if the plan is for him to start. If it's Dillane & O'Brien on the bench, that will be some impact!

@HarpinOnRugby bealham had some nice linespeed and big hits..depth at prop now is heart warming.

Attack was very encouraging. Defence was too, most of the time. Most.
The intercept i can live with, even though it came from us not respecting them enough, but we should have defened better, particularly the maul.
But, at the end of the day, a few more new caps and a potential bannan skin avoided.

Not a great outing. Dillane, Bealham, Ringrose, and O'Halloran played best. Marshall and Earls played themselves out of minutes.

Poor all round. Headless chickens with no imagination in attack. Mostly up-the-jumper stuff. Dillane was excellent, as was Bealham. Jackson was very solid. Marshall was weak, Marmion is too slow. Carberry needs to find his kicking boots as he's currently operating at 33%.

50 up, some good individual displays...we can dissect the 3 tries conceded but credit to Canada. Not a bad Sat eve for Irish sport #COYBIG
