Micheal Mac An TSagart No plan B. Simple as that. England knew we'd kick everything. Jones said as much before the match.
Amber Jane Harrop I am not sure we had a plan A let alone a plan B !!
Anyone know a company that can take a few big billboards down within 8 minutes?Asking for a friend. #IREvENG— Paddy Power (@paddypower) February 2, 2019
John Hyland Our very limited game plan was exposed. I thought Murray wasn't great.
Wayne O'Brien Hugely disappointing. Never got on control, didn’t dominate anything. Championship over.
Sure look... they played better than us didn’t they... they did... they’ve enough on their plate without us begrudging them a win... we’ll get em next time... be grand... graaaaaand.... *sniffles* #COYBIG #IrevEng #ShoulderToShoulder ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐— Skinny Doll ๐ (@theskinnydoll) February 2, 2019
Jamie Bond They got up in our faces and wouldn’t let us settle in to any game plan. We didn’t cope with that which should have been to frustrate them by retaining possession for long long periods of time.
Like last nights match some lucky breaks well taken by England were the difference.
James Griffin Bullied. Battered. Beaten. Bollocks! Be back!
Worrying lack of leaders on the pitch today #IREvENG— kommc (@kommc) February 2, 2019
John O'Brien We ALWAYS underperform in our opener. It's why I'm nervous about us facing Scotland in the pool stages of the World Cup.
Noel Hewson Always chasing the game never really got going. They will learn a lot from today. Want to see plenty of guys getting game time over the next few weeks.
Well done England. Dominated to be fair. Gutted for ireland on home soil. @hmurray9 ๐ #IreVEng #6NationsRugby— Ciara Crossan (@ccrossan) February 2, 2019
Kathy Harkin Cahill Everyone has a bad day ! Lessons learned and move on ! Still love them
Conor Cronin Do you want to check the pass is code for check the damn pass. That gets called back, we're not under pressure to force something later for the 4th try and it looks like a closer game. That said, I Don't think we'd have won it even with that. Not sure of any position where our player was better than theirs.
#IREvENG Not the best performance today, ah well, good England performance to take the chances and to take advantage of the lucky breaks. Not to blame ref but two big calls wrong 2nd yellow 1st half and forward pass to the try...— Bren (@bren_69) February 2, 2019
Colum Kearns Their heads weren't in the game and they were sloppy with the ball - the passing was not in sync. Ireland had some really good plays, but there were more bad plays that good ones.
I don't mind being beaten by the better team when you play at top form and your best is not good enough, but to be beaten when your own actions help the opposing team leaves one a bit bewildered and scratching their heads.
David Tiny Coughlan Jasus Ireland play great rugby for a couple of years . Play one bad game and there are so called supporters on here slating the team and individual players . Pull yer heads in and get behind the team for next week for fuck sake
Absolute immense performance by @EnglandRugby to win in Dublin. It had to be because Ireland are a class side. Our defence was superb, some huge hits going in.⚘ #IREvENG— Tris (@MrTristy1) February 2, 2019
Andrew Potts The only good outcome for Ireland is it ends that "win the WC " bs. A good reality check for the pundits who should know better and the fans of hype. A little reality at this stage is no harm.
Mick Penrose Better to learn now than in the Autumn.. a sharp shock to the system can re focus on the work rate needed at this level. Don’t think Henshaw at 15 was not the best tactic and should have been changed out at 40 min.. we were bullied badly today so a lot to take out of it for the boys.
Very disappointing performance we were out played, out muscled & out thought today England were better by a country mile, murrayfield is huge now #IREvENG #GuinnessSixNations— ะขะพny (@TonyKB777) February 2, 2019
Jason Fallon Garces is a joke of a ref. His ‘couldn’t be arsed’ approach doesn’t suit Ireland’s Uber play by the rules approach.
That said, England wanted it more. Ireland looked very rusty. Akin to France last year.
Murray doesn’t seem right.
Wouldn’t be too harsh on henshaw. Yeah- he sliced the clearance kick but he was no worse that anyone else in the Backline, with the exception of Ringrose who showed some nice moments.
Hope Dev’s ankle isn’t too severe. That could be a big loss.
It was a good shout to go after Earls
Richard Mifsud Outplayed, outgunned and out tacticed. We weren’t terrible but England forced us to play their game and we didn’t have what we normally do (in-game adaptability). So England deserved winners well played to them ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป. For us I’m perversely pleased about this because it grounds us for the World Cup. Still as ever #COYBIG ๐☘️
#IREvENG Superb win. The match was billed as whoever won it will win the #SixNations so an argument can be made for keeping bookies favourites away from playing each other so soon. I'm English but it does kinda kill the tournament when it might be playing for runner up already.— Andrew (@officialDB3K) February 2, 2019
Gerald Williamson Ireland backline attack was very static in the face of good English rush defence. The expected high balls did materialized and the Irish defence did not cope to well with it. There was a lack of imagination & ideas when Ireland had ball in hand or maybe no plan B.
Neil Keegan Ouch! That hurt! Kinda like an unexpected colonoscopy
This picture is precious... two men absolutely knocked the crap out of each for 80 mins, come together in solidarity in the end #IREvENG #6Nations ๐ฎ๐ช ๐น pic.twitter.com/yg5SOdf8te— James Wakefield (@JamesPWakefield) February 3, 2019
Joe Sheppard Er....... regroup......re-focus....... learn...... move forward....... some will NEVER know the feeling of losing!!! Better now than at RWC ๐๐๐
Iain O'Connor They beat us everywhere and at everything. They were fired up and we weren't ready for them. The Henshaw experiment wasn't good (not the time to try things) and the press/certain bookies in the run up behaved appallingly. Can't help but think we deserved this.
Takes a bit of pressure off the world cup now that we aren't on a double slam. (that's me clutching for a positive)
Fair play to Eddie Jones and England they backed up their words with a decent display in all areas especially intensity. Got the rub of the green more than once but deserved the win. Lots for us to work on but we'll be back. #COYBIG #IREvENG #GuinnessSixNations— Harpin' On Rugby ๐ (@HarpinOnRugby) February 2, 2019
