Richard Mifsud Typical first game of the season plagued with lack of cohesion and tempo. Pack looked pretty decent to start of. Interesting to see the swap over of the Tighthead and Loosehead with Porter and Ryan respectively moving across. Some good individual performances from (Ireland) Carbery, Conway, Beirne, Kearney, Porter, O’Donnell, Ruddock, Murphy, Farrell and Ringrose (Italy) Canna, Benvenuti, Budd and Palazanni. Much to work on for both sides
Like, a game definitely happened. And I definitely watched it. But I can't remember a single thing about it. #IREvITA— Padraig O'Roosh (@anarchomushroom) August 10, 2019
Conor Cronin It's one of those games where the lads were told "show them nothing". Unfortunately the coaching ticket meant the play book, while some players thought out meant do nothing to stand out.
I really hope this thing of short garryowen kicks isn't the plan. Yes some of our players are great in the air, Conway was particularly good, but from inside your own 22 to just outside is very risky play. Better teams would really punish us from that
Anton Phelan I will never get those few hours back I think Eddie summed it up abysmal

Must say I think @Luke_W_Pearce, today's ref of #RugbyWorldCup warm up game #IREvITA, has been really excellent.— christine webber (@1chriswebber) August 10, 2019
Jamie Bond ...massively changed Irish team. Most haven’t played in 3 months or more. Bar a few try’s left behind it’s pretty much what I expected from Ireland.
Scrappy enough game.Carbery's injury is a black mark on the game but Ireland will be happy enough outside of that.Kleyn, Ruddock, Farrell, Conway, O'Donnell played well. Carbery was the top performer before his injury #IREvITA— Three Red Kings (@threeredkings) August 10, 2019
Dónal Foley Carbery's injury is the main takeaway, both sides were too rusty to make too much of that.
@kearney_dave did well today, I hope he's on the plane, had so much bad luck with injuries, still really quick, good hands, good defender too on the wing.. #IREvITA— Jpv (@Monkeysocks36) August 10, 2019
Gerald Williamson Thought Carty's kicking out of the hands behind the Italian defence infield before finding touch was good. Jean Klyne one to watch.
Joey Carberry injury is a worry for @IRFURugby but anyone who thinks these World Cup warm up games are an unnecessary risk can never have played competitive sport. #IREvITA— The Amateur Rugby Podcast (@amrugbypodcast) August 10, 2019
Henry Sellars Mediocre teams playing mediocre result. Lámh Asuas for Conway,Dave, Marmion and Beirne imo. Bad press for Carty in a 2min spell. Ross B. a bolter?.....
Definitely some takeaways from that game. Some players put their hands up.Some players took themselves out of consideration.Likely 3 10s go to Japan now too.— BallHandling Hooker (@BHHooker) August 10, 2019
Sharon Murphy A lot of cobwebs to dust off yet
Brian Phillips Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

"We don't want to be too harsh but that was abysmal" - Eddie O'Sullivan lives up to his nickname #thedagger #IREvITA— Daragh Ó Conchúir (@RebelDevil71) August 10, 2019
Graham Lowen Vaguely familiar to the warm up to the last World Cup, I hope it’s not a sign of things to come 🤞
OMG we need to all get on our knees now to pray that Joey Carbury is ok. I am gutted so guess how he is feeling. #IREvITA— Niav Halpin (@NiavCHalpin) August 10, 2019
Warren Doyle I really do despair when I see these negative comments. Our men need support, support, support. Leave the criticism out, it's far too early to assess abilities.
First order of business; fingers, toes, eyes, everything crossed for Joey C. Next, we got the win. As a spectacle, it was a poor contest but decent displays by Conway, DK, TOD, Farrell, Ringrose plus Beirne off bench. Good test for them, on to the next one. #IREvITA— Harpin' On Rugby 🏉 (@HarpinOnRugby) August 10, 2019
