Germany and Portugal both in action in two of three live matches on Rugby Europe TV this Saturday
The European Nations Cup returns this Saturday with three exciting fourth round matches, all streamed live and free of charge on RugbyEurope.tv, the new digital streaming service from Rugby Europe, the governing body responsible for the promotion, development, administration and management of international competitions for the 48 member unions across Europe.
Saturday sees the relegation battle heat up with Portugal and Germany involved in ‘must win’ matches. The two sides are level on points heading into the final rounds of the European Nations Cup, and both face difficult away games this weekend. The side with the fewest points over the European Nations Cup 2014/2016 campaign will be relegated to ENC-1B.
Portugal travel to Madrid to tackle local rivals Spain. In a match worth more than local bragging rights, Portugal will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss in Germany with a win over a Spain side that has underwhelmed in 2016.
Germany face a difficult trip to Cluj to take on a high flying Romania side in a match with implications at both ends of the table. The visitors will be desperate to win and put pressure on fellow strugglers Portugal, while Romania need a convincing victory against Germany in order to press their title credentials ahead of a crunch match with Georgia in round five.
The final game of the day sees a top of the table clash between two sides locked in the title race. Defending champions Georgia face their first real test of the 2016 tournament against a Russia side looking to bounce back from a disappointing 30-0 loss to Romania. A win for Georgia will set up a potential title decider against Romania next week, while victory for Russia will keep them in the title picture heading into the final round of matches.
