Bayonne enjoyed much territory in front of their home fans but just didn’t have the skillset to bring it over the line past stubborn defending from the likes of Liebenburg, Battut and Nadolo. Meanwhile this “away” Montpellier selection were taking their penalty chances down the other end courtesy of 6/6 from Catrakillis and a trademark monster punt from Steyn. A comfortable win for Jake White’s men with more solid scrummaging from their props though lineouts were far from perfect.
