Both teams have won the Bouclier de Brennus in recent years but you wouldn't know it from this snoozefest which seemed more like a race to the bottom. The “high” point was Plisson’s red card for dropping his shoulder but Castres couldn't capitalize, shipping their own yellow moments later. Their sub scrum-half Antoine Dupont, on for Kockott, gave their attack a bit of spark but ultimately it was a strong finish from Stade’s outside centre Doumayrou that proved the difference.
