Pro 14 Round 17 [part 3] review by Ciarán Duffy

Edinburgh 12 – 6 Munster
Two tries were enough to see Edinburgh solidify their place in a quest for a quarter final spot.  Munster opened the scoring with a penalty from JJ Hanrahan. Edinburgh went ahead just before halftime with a try from Duhan van der Merwe.  

In the second half Hanrahan got a second penalty as Jason Harris was shown a yellow card.  Van der Merwe got his second try despite Edinburgh being down a player, Jacob van der Walt kicked the conversion.  

Cardiff Blues 31 – 25 Benetton

Two penalties from Marty Banks had Benetton ahead before tries from Owen Lane and Olly Robinson, both converted by Jarrod Evans put the home side in front.  Benetton got their first try through Giorgio Bronzini, converted by Banks. Evans kicked a penalty for the Blues to see them lead 17 – 13 at halftime.

Both sides touched down within a minute of each other in the 2nd half, Ellis Jenkins for Cardiff, Evans converted, and Monty Ioane for Benetton, Ian McKinley adding the extras.  Cardiff extended their lead and secured the bonus point with a try from Nick Williams, Evans added the conversion.  Benetton would take a point from the game when Tomas Baravalle touched down late on.

Rescheduled Fixtures

Ulster – Glasgow will take place on the weekend on April 20th.
