After mistakes dominated the first half of this historic (and hopefully not one-off) encounter in Apia, a crossfield kick by Carter was well finished by debutant Moala early in the second and helped establish a 16-point cushion. Then two strong surges and a dot down by Fa’osiliva brought the house down but it wasn’t quite enough for Samoa. Plenty of room for improvement for these top ten ranked nations though both Ds were impressive.
