MIKE BROWN ON A HOME RUGBY WORLD CUP AND INJURY
“I’m massively excited, just like the other England guys are about this year’s World Cup in England. It’s an added bonus that it’s on our home soil, it doesn’t get any bigger than that for us.
“We’ve been building up to this for the last four years. Since Stuart took over we’ve been building as a squad so we’re all massively excited.
“It hasn’t been ideal picking up an injury but that’s the nature of the sport that we play. It’s given me a bit of time to rest and relax but I’m back into training now and preparing for World Cup and that won’t be affected by injury as we still have to go through a full pre-season together as a squad.
“I’m excited to get back going and back into a bit of light training and I can’t wait to get stuck into some more hard work.
MIKE BROWN ON LEIGH HALFPENNY
“He’s obviously a world class player, he was a Lion and Lions’ Player of the Season so he’s going to be a massive guy to look out for when we play against Wales.
“He’s a great goal-kicker so our discipline will have to be spot on when we play against them but for me, it’s just about focussing on my job for the team and trying to stamp my game on the pitch so that people like him can’t do what he wants to do against us.
MIKE BROWN ON SELECTION
“I’ve grown up watching World Cup’s through the years and it something that I’ve always wanted to be involved in. Back to when England were in a final at Twickenham against Australia in 1991, I remember watching it with my dad, and then the World Cup’s that have gone by since then.
“I was just desperate to be involved in something like that and the closer it gets that I might have that opportunity, the more excited I am. I just wanted to get stuck into training now and hopefully I’ll be selected for it.”
