A nail biting, unpredictable and exciting beginning to 6Nations 2016. In their desperation, 2 late penalties from the boot of Plisson gave France (2.0) a 23-21 win over Italy. Italy fought hard and passionately to take the lead in 2nd half, Parisse rallying his team and leading by example (even having a go at a drop goal). France’s defence was substandard, sluggish line speed. Kicking was dire from both team’s flyhalves. Whilst clinically poor, this match was intensely entertaining.
