Ireland were not clinical enough. The French maul was effective, they drove over midway through the first half, an intercept try from Boujard had them 12 points to the good, Briggs added her second penalty to reduce the deficit before halftime. The Irish lineout was again cause for concern and they were punished for not committing enough at the breakdown. A late French penalty was the only score of the second half, injuries to Briggs and Muldoon add further concern.
