I said last week we needed to back up the performance. Job done! Some really great work done out there tonight. Some poor reffing, a weaker saints team, and what looked like more high tackles, but solid work and determination from Leinster undermine all of that. Isa leaving by example again, vdf, furlong both McGraths and Heaslip all with some great work. I'm a happy fan.

In a perverse way I'm glad we had that mini wobble Total ruthlessness shown by the boys #jobdone @HarpinOnRugby @BigJoeShep @leinsterrugby— Richard Mifsud (@Richmif) December 17, 2016
How did they manage 13 points? You can only deal with what's put in front of you and Leinster did just that.

Thank God that's overLeinster lots - Saints a lot less— Paul Williams (@thepaulwilliams) December 17, 2016
Good stuff by Leinster. Some great tries by both the young and old.
A big win would have been predicted before hand given the teams announced but I don't think anyone expected a record loss for the saints. Roll on Munster

A victory earned by the pack. Leinster have raised their game since the return of their internationals. It seems the entire squad have raised their level to compete for places with test players. The result is that Leinster are playing at close to test level at the moment with academy players pushing for opportunities to step up. What a difference a year makes.

Did Leinster even get out of 2nd gear?! Northampton beyond hopeless.

Well done @leinsterrugby always good to see an Aviva Premiershiip team get a right good hoking! FT Leinster 60 Northampton 13— richard mulligan (@r_mulligan1) December 17, 2016
Better then I could have expected, really liked how desperate Leinster were to not even concede a try. Often Leinster build a lead then invite teams back inti the game. This time they kept that intensity through to end, now that is good
Disappointed English are doing what French do and disrespect the tournament by picking such a callow team. This is their tournament and they are the first to not try when it suits. In a few years they could well be moaning about the Pro12s advantage if that's their attitude

Remembering the opposition where shite, that team oerformance@from @leinsterrugby was still great. Foot on the gas for 80! Message sent!— Keego (@nkeegan) December 17, 2016
Hardly a contest after 10 minutes. Very much ole stuff

Saturday's rugby concludes with a big scoreline at the Aviva Stadium... if you're a Saints fan, look away now. pic.twitter.com/gdFKFOOFLA— Kristian Ross (@Kristian7Ross) December 17, 2016
Oh man. Best match to be at in a long time. It had everything. A wobble at the start, gifted points, confused referee decisions, the further evolution of a legendary centre pairing, Byrne finally getting over in Europe and then running everything from everywhere, Nugget stepping like a SH back, defending the line at the end like it was a 1 point game, and a boot to the throat scoreline. Merry Christmas, one and all!

Some Saints fans singing "We're fucking shit, we're fucking shit" leaving the Aviva. Quality! 😂— Rugby Onslaught 🏉 (@Rugbyonslaught) December 17, 2016
Dylan Hartley, Nick Hewer from Countdown ex Apprentice, Silverstone Racing Track...your boys took one hell of a beating!!!!!
Ross Byrne take a bow. Impressive and composed.

Happy with the result, but happier with the bench been emptied and having a positive impact on the game. We never faulted even with all our subs coming on. stuck to the defensive plan and kept our shape very well. Home quarter final is looking good .

I hope that the net effect of the double thrashing of Northampton isn't the poaching of Stuart Lancaster. #leinsterrugby— Dara Hayes (@dbmhayes) December 17, 2016
The first 15 minutes were shakey but it was fairly one sided after that. I feel sorry for the Northampton fans who travelled just to see lambs being sent to the slaughter.

That equals the most points @SaintsRugby have ever conceded in any competition. Equalling 0-60 at Orrell in Division 1 in October 1990!— Stuart Farmer (@Stu_Farmer) December 17, 2016

Glad I left my sick bed for Lansdowne Rd tonight. Nice win @leinsterrugby #LEIvNOR— Sarah Kerr (@sarahkkerrq) December 17, 2016
I got my Christmas wish - two bonus points wins 😀
I'll take the scoreline all day long but it's a shame to see a great club like Northampton do so poorly. Hope they're back soon. #LEIvNOR— Harpin' On Rugby (@HarpinOnRugby) December 17, 2016
Many thanks to all who offered opinions.
