Winless Brive started both halves brightly but this only served to anger Cotter’s men who demonstrated that any kind of mistake will be punished by their table-topping lineup. Be it Jesse Mogg attacking from deep, Cruden’s deft offloads and grubbers, Steyn’s booming torpedos, Pienaar’s placekicking, Bismarck du Plessis finishing mauls, Nadolo finishing his hat-trick; Montpellier’s scoring options seemed endless. If Leinster want a winning European start, shortcomings like dodgy lineouts and a brittle centre channel will have to be fixed.
