USA 45 – 13 Chile
USA remain top of the table a routine win over Chile. 1captain Augspurger got USAs first try two minutes in. Audsley got their second on the 20-minute mark. Ianiszewski got a penalty for Chile, at halftime USA led 10 – 3.
Audsley and Campbell got early second-half tries for USA, both of which were converted by Magie. Dussaillant got one for Chile shortly after. Tries from Te’o and Al-jiboori put USA further ahead, Magie again converting. Chile got a try late on through Zunino, but USA got the last score through Lasike, Cima kicking the conversion.
Uruguay 17 – 34 Argentina XV
Argentina XV picked up a win against a Uruguay side high after recently qualifying for the World Cup in an ill-disciplined affair. Uruguay took the lead with two tries from Juan Manuel Cat, the first of which was converted by Germán Albanell. Argentina XV got their first try through Juan Cruz González. Uruguay then went down to 14 when loose head Mateo Sanguinetti was shown yellow. Argentina XV got their second through Ferronato. González converted and then kicked a penalty. At halftime Argentina XV led 12 – 15.
At the start of the second half both teams found themselves down to 14, Andrés Vilaseca was sent to the bin for Uruguay,, Diego Galetto was shown yellow for Argentina XV. Germán Schulz crossed over for Argentina XV to put them back in the lead. Rodrigo Etchart and Lucas Mensa got tries for Argentina, both of which were converted by Mensa.
Canada 45 – 5 Brazil
Canada comfortably beat Brazil to secure their first win of the tournament. Number 8 Luke Campbell got the games first try, winger Cole Davis got Canadas second just after. On the half hour-mark Djustice Sears-Duru got over, Shane O’Leary converted the first three tries. Van der Merwe got over just before halftime, Canada led 26 – 0.
In the second half Ray Barkwill got over early on. Brazil went down to 14 when Gabriel Paganini was sent off. Canada got two more tries, from Doug Fraser and Giuseppe du Toit, O’Leary converted both tries. Brazil got a late consolation from substitute Jacobus de Wet van Niekerk.
