Russia 48 – 7 Belgium
Russia got their first win of the competition, beating Belgium to keep their World Cup hopes alive. They went 21 – 0 up with tries from Mikhail Babaev, Andrei Garbuzov and Tagir Gadzhiev.
Belgium got on the board 7 minutes in to the second half, with a try from Vincent Hart, who himself kicked the conversion. Yuri Kushnarev kicked a penalty for Russia, before Evgeny Elgin and Igor Galinocskiy touched down for the home side. Elgin got his second try, and Bogdan Fedotko got a final try. Yuri Kushnarev converted 5 of the 7 tries.
Germany 0 – 64 Georgia
Germanys tough start to the tournament continued. Georgias scoring began in the 10th minute, Giorgi Kveseladze got the firs of his three tries. They got two more tries in the first half through Alexander Todua and Levan Chilachava.
In the second half Georgia secured the bonus point with a try from Anton Peikrishvili. Paul Pfisterer was shown yellow for Germant, Mikheil Gazechiladze touched down for Georgias 5th. Kveseladze got his second after the hour mark, followed by tries from Otar Giorgadze and Zurab Zhvania. Kveseladze wrapped up his hattrick with 4 minutes to go, Lasha Khmaladze got their final try after the 80th minute. Beka Tsikalauri converted 7 of the tries. Georgia top the table with two bonus point wins from 2. Georgias results do not count in the World Cup qualifying.
Spain 22 – 10 Romania
Spain moved top of the World Cup qualifying table with a win over Romania. Romania had Tangimana Fonvai sent to the bin in the first minute. Spain got two early tries through Beñat Auzqui and Sebastien Ascarat to lead 10 – 0. Florin Vlaicu kicked Romanias first points 5 minutes later. Bradley Linklater kicked a penalty for the home side, who had centre Daniel Snee sent to the bin. Spain led 13 – 3.
Linklater kicked three more penalties in the second half before Romania got another score. Sione Fakaosilea got a late consolation for the away side, Valentin Calafeteanu converted. A great win for Spain ahead of a difficult away game in Georgia.
