Nadolo is absolutely terrifying. Great win & bonus point though, Carberry & Henshaw excellent, Daly’s finish for his try was exceptional

Conor Murphy

Great result. Flabbergasting that Wayne Barnes is still allowed to ref at that level.

Keith Geraghty

Fantastic stuff.

Is that Leinster best European performance in 3 years???? Outclassed a team of monster

Henshaw our new lord and saviour!

Neil Keegan

An enjoyable game but the usual heart in mouth moment at the end. I'm genuinely hopeful for this year. We outclassed an excellent French team, with some beasts on it.
Adding to the three stars this year? Am I being too optimistic?

Dara Mac An Chrósáin

Carbery & Henshaw absolutely fantastic throughout but a big shout out too to James Ryan. The kid is going to be a superstar if he continues along his current trajectory

Derek McGee

Add James Lowe and Garry Ringrose to that backline and its intelligence can work around anyone who relies solely on monstrous size. Delighted.

Derek Tormey

Great win considering we are missing a few big players. Henshaw was immense. 5 points from the first game is a great start especially against a big powerful Montpellier side. The younger guys are really starting to step up. #COYBIB

Colin Campbell

Carbery fluctuated (as he always does) between genius and naivety.
Henshaw was great, the tackle on Nadolo, followed immediately by him ripping the ball in the tackle on the support runner, was sublime.
Conan was a monster in attack and defence and the rest of the pack did what was needed to contain the Monpellier 8.
Barry Daly took his try really well and had a great game, as did Byrne on the other wing.

All-in-all a four-try BP win is great result against a monster of a team.

PS Barnes was shite

Ronan McManus

Outstanding bonus point win today at the RDS Rhys Ruddock and Devin Toner were the heart beat of this win along with Rob Henshaw you could see Leo hands all over this win

Odran John OBrien

Best performance since last April. But on a separate issue - to those Ulster fans who thought it funny/appropriate to turn up in Ulster gear with their ‘Ruan’ flags you can FRO. Get over it - Ulster were better without him last night and he was anonymous today

Bp win is a cracking start. Don't think Montpelier deserves their bp though. Defensively we were mostly good though a couple of players will be annoyed at themselves for not going low on Nadolo.
Need to do the same against Glasgow next week, it's a tough group and every point will count

Awwwweeeeesssssssooooooommmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee!

It was grand....

Absolutely chuffed with that. A BPW against this Montpellier side with a young side of our own is certainly not to be sniffed at. Tactics were good although execution failed at times. Overall very pleased although my bum will be squeaking for a long time. This kind of performance and tenacity represents a huge learning event for our young players...a coming of age if you will.

Richard Mifsud

A performance to build on. Our pack minus Jamie, Fardy & SO'B has shown they can take on any 8 in Europe - and win. James Ryan is the future!!!

Riocard Ó Tiarnaigh

This was one of the form teams in Europe who we came up against and when my stream was working we looked good. Glad to see our form improve when we needed it to.

Dónal Foley

Super-impressed with Barry Daly, not just for his try but his tackling and reading of the game in play. For me he has been the most impressive and consistent back so far this season.

Andrew Byrne

Season ticket price covered on that 80 minutes alone...gotta love the balls on my team to beat what seemed like 15 bigger men with tremendous defense and scoring 4 tries, 3 of which were brilliantly crafted. Not perfect but massively entertaining, allez les bleus💪💪

Stephen Girvin

Mixed bag of a performance, some horrible decision making and tackling. Yet a bonus point win against a hard bunch of professionals. Great finish by Daly and Carbery the slid in gave no chance of a dislodge and Daly really had so much to do. The pack were just relentless in their face all day. Byrne had a tough day but nothing that a little technique and some thought into tackle selection and execution cannot fix. The half backs gave me heart failure once or twice. But if you can play only so so and come up with a bonus point against a French, Afrikaans juggernaut you have done well.

Andrew Potts

Many thanks to all who offered opinions.
