GLOUCESTER 28-21 EXETER CHIEFS
An early try from the champions’ impressive number 8 Sam Simmonds (who later added a second) was clawed back by a strong Gloucester defensive line and a couple of quirky tries which built a 21-14 lead. A yellow card/HIA combo sidelined Exeter 10 Steenson most of the second half and despite drawing level with a poacher’s try from Woodburn, they somehow went from Henry Slade missing a 78th minute penalty to Jason Woodward crashing over for a last-gasp BP winner.
