Easily the most entertaining clash of the PNC so far, despite whistle-happy ref Gauzere. Japan established an early lead with three well-taken Goromaru penalties but the Fijians countered with three tries all of which suited their trademark sevens style. Eddie Jones’ Brave Blossoms needed resilience and a slew of Fijian penalties and yellows to claw their way back against a stubborn D yet even when camped in their 22 with 2 extra men at the end they couldn’t catch them.
