Some commentators would no doubt find fault if Ireland replicated this scoreline when we play Canada on September 19 but I wouldn’t be one of them. Yes, they scored some tries but only when 20 pts down; defensively they had no match for the Fijians’ frenetic tempo and quality individuals like Matawalu, Nakarawa and Matavesi. An easy win yet anyone who thinks Pool A is merely a 3-way fight between ENG WAL & AUS is fooling themselves on this evidence.
