SAM 25-16 USA (8-0-review)

by Ciarán Duffy

Both teams were up for it having seen the pool blown wide open yesterday. Samoa started both halves better which ultimately won it for them, despite their many handling errors. The US came alive at the 30-minute mark, scoring 8 points, but halftime interrupted their momentum. It looked like it was over when Stanley kicked a difficult penalty to leave a gap of 14, but the Eagles responded with a Chris Baumann try. The missed conversion however, killed the game.
