A match riddled with errors from start to finish. Countless stoppages, knock-ons, and penalties killed momentum for both teams. Tonga played raw, unorganised rugby and lacked crucial clinical execution needed to score tries against strong Georgian defence. The match came alive after Georgia’s 2nd try in the 69th minute. The Lelos held most of the 2nd half possession but a riveting final 20 minutes saw Tonga back in the game with Vainikolo try. Georgia just about held on for win.
